The next generation neutron detector

The collaboration is busily at work designing and building the next generation neutron detector. Building on the legacy of MoNA and LISA, we emphasizing the physics output of this new array. Where the existing arrays strengths are in neutron detection efficiency, the new array prioritizes position resolution. This focus gives better energy resolution and thus better spectroscopy.

We are transitioning from analog electronics and photomultiplier tubes to digital waveform capture and Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs).

Simulation is a vital part of our design process. Here you see a simulated two-neutron hit on an NGn tile.
